Happy Pokémon Day! Celebrating 30 Years of Adventure


Today is February 27, 2026—officially Pokémon Day!

It has been exactly three decades since Pokémon Red and Pokémon Green first launched in Japan back in 1996. What started as a hobby of collecting insects for Satoshi Tajiri has transformed into a global phenomenon that connects millions of us across every corner of the world.

A Legacy of 30 Years

This year is extra special. Not only are we celebrating the 30th anniversary, but today’s Pokémon Presents has set the community on fire with the announcement of Pokémon Winds and Pokémon Waves! Whether you’ve been a fan since the Game Boy era or you just started your journey in Paldea or the Mega Dimension, today is a day to celebrate the friendships we've made through battling and trading.

  • Tune In: Watch the latest Pokémon Presents for the first look at Gen 10!

  • Play the Classics: Pokémon FireRed and LeafGreen have officially arrived on Nintendo Switch Online today—time to revisit Kanto!

  • Go Out: Join the community events at your local Pokémon League for special promo cards and stickers.

  • Share Your Story: Use #Pokemon30 on social media to share your favorite Pokémon memory.

What's Your Favorite?

The theme of this year's celebration is "What's Your Favorite?" From the first time you chose Bulbasaur, Charmander, or Squirtle, to the moment you caught your first Shiny, we all have that one memory that stays with us.

Furious fighting types

Now, I'm super excited to unveil my new set – four fighting-type Pokémon! I put a ton of effort into designing these guys. I spent a lot of time on their artwork too. I tried to make them look as fierce and intimidating as possible, like they could take down any opponent. I think I nailed it! They look so cool! I'm really proud of how these fighting-type Pokémon turned out. I hope my blog readers love them as much as I do. I'm already planning my next set of Pokémon cards, and I can't wait to share them with everyone. Maybe I'll try designing some water-type Pokémon next!
